At the tip of the peninsular mountain range of Epidaurus Limeras that fades into the sea (Akra Maleas), our bow is now heading westwards. To our right, 600-metre tall rocks crumble, plunging to oblivion into the dark sea. Standing up at Aghios Georgios, the meeting point of five winds, our lonesome traveler waves from the barren extremity. As the grey clouds hunch over above us, fairies and ghosts start sending roars and howls from the grim giant’s bowels. Hunted by the wind, the frothing sea runs faster and faster. Under the whitewashed cross, at the four points of the compass, the traveler seeks his relationship with God, his fellow men, the world and the liquid element. This is the outermost land he chose. His salty eyes and restless mind bat around the heavy sea, browsing through truths and superstitions, legends and deities of the deep, shipwrecks and lost treasures, stories and myths of the cape. Images spring up in front of him like holograms on the endless aquatic arena. Shapes, colors, material and immaterial creations of his imagination are entrapped into his mind. Few of those will finally turn into an image and form. Most of them will remain secrets, sealed in the dark steep crevices of the weather-beaten rock’s edge.

AKRA Imaging artistic team is an expression platform for visual and material rendering, which hosts our abiding passion for the underwater activity of freediving in its most primitive form, combined with our love for our homeland. These two elements incessantly inspire and characterize our creations. We aspire to become the reference point that will connect our diving history with modern practices.
